At Wines of Illyria, our mission is to source exceptional, small-production, low-intervention, and handcrafted wines and spirits that embody the unique character of the ancient Illyrian countryside—what is now Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. Inspired by the region’s rich winemaking traditions, we are committed to honoring this heritage by offering wines that are authentic, honest, and deeply connected to the land.
We partner with estate vineyards nestled in some of the most stunning and ecologically diverse areas of ancient Illyria. Dedicated to preserving these natural habitats for future generations, we collaborate with local farmers to manage vineyards using natural and sustainable farming practices—avoiding synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, just as they have for thousands of years.

Founded in 2016 by Indira Bayer, Wines of Illyria brings the rich heritage of the Balkan Peninsula to American wine lovers. Specializing in premium, estate-grown, low-intervention wines and spirits crafted from native grape varieties, our mission is to share these exceptional, handcrafted treasures. As Founder and Brand Ambassador, Indira hosts educational seminars, wine tastings, and events to support our partners and spread the story of these unique wines.
