Our 2026 Bosnia & Croatia Journey

A bustling outdoor market selling copper goods.

Sarajevo — Where Our Journey Began

Our journey began in Sarajevo, a city shaped by an extraordinary history. From ancient Illyrian and Roman civilizations to medieval Bosnian kingdom, centuries of Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian rule, and the Yugoslav era, each left its mark on the region. We explored historic Baščaršija, visited the famous Sarajevo Brewery, learned about the city's recent wartime history at the Tunnel of Hope, and enjoyed a horse-drawn carriage ride through Ilidža, once a fashionable Austro-Hungarian spa retreat, to the beautiful springs of the Bosna River.

Vibrant outdoor market with fresh fruits and vegetables.

Experiencing Local Life

We explored Trebinje's lively green market, discovering fresh seasonal produce, homemade specialties, and local traditions. Then we relaxed at a charming outdoor café, enjoying espresso and cappuccino while watching the town come to life

Group rafting in a river gorge surrounded by trees.

Rafting on the Neretva River

One of the highlights of our journey! We rafted through the spectacular Neretva River canyon, rode the cable car to Sarajevo's Olympic Mountain Trebević, hiked down the historic Olympic bobsleigh track, and braved the icy-cold waters beneath Kravice Waterfalls!

Our 2026 Bosnia & Croatia Journey

Wines of Ancient Illyria

  1. We visited beautiful vineyards and family-owned wineries, tasted wines made from indigenous grape varieties, and met the passionate winemakers who preserve centuries-old winemaking traditions. From limestone vineyards to memorable tastings overlooking the countryside, we discovered the unique wines of Herzegovina.

A Taste of Bosnia-Herzegovina & Croatia

  • From traditional ćevapi, freshly baked burek, and delicious charcuterie platters inland to fresh seafood and oysters along the Adriatic coast, we savored the diverse flavors of Bosnia and Croatia.

Dubrovnik — The Pearl of the Adriatic

From Sarajevo and Mostar to the medieval towns of Počitelj and Trebinje, and the historic cities of Split and Dubrovnik, we explored centuries of history, architecture, and cultural traditions.
